Stormy Sunset, Idaho
The mountains and canyons outside of Boise, Idaho are filled with dramatic beauty. My husband and I were just preparing to depart from the Idaho site of our daughter's wedding, when we unexpectedly witnessed this breathtaking sunset. I whipped out my camera and took many photos. At home, I used these photos and my memory in an attempt to capture the stunning and ever-changing play of light, while working to achieve the best possible composition and design. It took many months and several versions before I was finally satisfied.
This image comes as close as I could get to what we saw that evening. I'm pleased with the result, and feel it rates among my best works to date (2026). I hope you love it as much as I do!
